The East Coast Scale Challenge 2016 this past weekend at the Rose Point Park in New Castle, PA went off without a hitch and was definitely an event for the books!! With all the incredible rigs, it was difficult to pick a winner. However, we gotta do what we gotta do. Here’s a closer look at the Class 1 Winner’s Jeep by Todd G!
Todd based his Jeep off the Tamiya Wrangler body. He made several modifications and added accessories to make his Jeep a true champion. Keep reading to find out more!
Todd’s Jeep started his build with the Tamiya Wrangler Body and added a handmade C channel frame, including internal cage work and bumpers and a custom interior. To give the Jeep ultimate control, our RC4WD Superlift Adjustable Steering Stabilizer (65mm-90mm) (Z-S0988) was installed.
In order to achieve sleek and realistic looks, Todd upgraded to our RC4WD T-Rex 60 Front & Rear Plastic Complete Axle (Z-A0076), RC4WD 1/10 V8 Scale Engine (Z-S1043) and our RC4WD R4 Ultimate Scale Single Speed Transmission (Z-U0031). All three components offer not only looks, but pair nicely to bring your rig to the next level by providing maximum steering power and super strong internal steel gears. Other electronics include the Castle Micro Mamba ESC and the Holmes 35T Motor.
And for those super bumpy adventures, our RC4WD Super Scale Steel Leaf Springs for TF2 & Tamiya Bruiser (Z-S1476) were added. These were simple to install and increased payload capacity as well! Next, our RC4WD Wildcard 1.55” Scale Beadlock Wheels (Z-W0131) with real hex bolts were mounted along with RC4WD Scale Aisin/Yota Style Hubs (Z-S0196).
And lastly, our RC4WD Clear Lexan Windshield for Tamiya Jeep Wrangler Body (Z-B0012) was added to give this build it's finished look.
