Hi everyone, greetings from the Northern Mariana Islands!
My name is Ryan Reyes, and I’m from Saipan, a U.S. Commonwealth located in the Western Pacific Ocean. I am proud and honored to be a RC4WD Team Driver, and I’m excited to share this spot with all of you.
I started RC the same way many of us did as a kid but I really dove into the hobby around 2015. I’m primarily into scale trail, comp crawling, and RC drifting. Every build teaches me something new, and being part of this team helps me push my skills even further, especially in hard-body modeling and scale realism.
One of my favorite parts of the hobby is seeing other people’s scale builds and the creativity that goes into them. Living in Saipan has its unique challenges, but our location also gives me a unique advantage. We’re geographically close to Japan and Hong Kong. Saipan is a small island, but we have some of the most beautiful and diverse terrain for RC crawling
Another huge passion of mine is building the RC community in Saipan. Our island may be small (around 49,000 people), but the community is growing, and we’ve started organizing group trail runs and local meetups. I plan to host events, and eventually take our team to Guam to participate in RC initiatives there and more.
My first RC was a Traxxas Slash.
My favorite RC memory one I’ll never forget is becoming an RC4WD Team Driver.
My favorite RC4WD platform is the TF2. I currently run both the RWB and LWB, and the LWB is a line killer when tuned right. I love dialing in performance, then shifting into the creative side scale accessories, body mods, and details.
Saipan may be far from the mainland USA, but through social media, connections, and passion, our reach is unlimited. My goal is to grow the RC scene in the Mariana Islands, inspire more builders, host comps, and continue representing island RC culture to the world.
