Staring at Ghosts: Reflection and Introspection

I started driving for RC4WD in 2023. Bit of a day walker myself. When I was a young destructive lad, I wanted to experience the thrill of holding a square box with levers on it. I wanted the power to control something, to force it to do my bidding, which usually ended up in the mud, water, and broken. I have been obsessed with RC’s since I was 12, and it has been a fantastic hobby to be in! Although I have dabbled in all the RC aspects with wheels, racing, crawling, scale, bashing, my true love is scale and realism with the builds and the crawling. My 1st RC was a Tamiya Blackfoot, then I raced nitro stadium trucks, bashed here and there. Left the hobby for real off-roading, then I started a family, and decided RC’ing was cheaper than off-roading.

My favorite RC by a mile is the RC4WD TF2 platform, with any body. I just love the realism of the leaf springs. Leafer Life. It reminds me of the older days with my family when we used to off-road the old Chevy’s and Jeep’s in the woods when I was younger. However, my 64 Hour LWB TF2 is my favorite RC.

Some accomplishments in the RC world I am proud of are the enduro’s I completed, 12, 24, 48, 56, and 64 hour non-stop enduro’s. There’s something about having that as part of my RC legacy that makes me proud. Too many others to list here, but that is on the top of the list.

Thanks to my LHS Mike’s Auto Part’s – Hobby Supplies for keeping my passion going and always supporting me and everyone in our area and beyond.
I look forward to making more memories with my friends and meeting new people to share this amazing hobby with.
